March Meeting & Jam

Our next Monthly Gathering & Jam will be Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 3pm-6pm at the NEW Darwin's location in Sandy Springs and will feature our host band, David T & Friends.  If you enjoy variety in music this is a “must see” act.  This band features outstanding vocals, keyboards, and funky horn section. David T & Friend's tasteful blend of original and classic cover tunes will keep you smiling, singing, dancing, and having fun. Akin will be serving up the best food in town in his spanking new kitchen and Lindsay and pals will be making drinks they same way they always have at Darwin's, delicious and potent.  Come out and christen the new digs, we think you will like it very much.  Darwin's is, as always, smoke free, so do bring the whole family.  Don't forget to bring your instruments and/or voices for our jam, which is getting more popular than ever.  We will also hold our raffles, which – as always – benefits our Blue Flame Fund which provides assistance to local musicians in need.

2017 International Blues Challenge
There aren't enough superlatives to tell Rae and The Royal Peacocks, Dos Blues Guys and Garrett Collins how very proud we are of their performances and demeanor in the 2017 International Blues Challenge in Memphis last week. Rebekah, Danny, Valerie, Art and Harold totally blew everyone away with both of their sets in the Quarter finals and were equally superb in the Semi's. Andy was excellent and when Bennie lit into his Chicken Hot Dog song one of the judges went hysterical. Garrett wowed the onlookers with his guitar playing and original music. The 50 or so ABS members in attendance cheered them on and were quite vocal about where they were from, as one of the venue coordinators announced "Atlanta is in the house". What a great group of ambassadors. Congratulations!! - George Klein
