Best Self-Produced CD Award

ABS Submission Deadline October 1, 2023!
Each year, since 2005, the Blues Foundation holds a competition for the best Self-Produced CD, in conjunction with the International Blues Challenge in January. The Blues Foundation is looking for high quality blues recordings from “up and coming” artists that might not otherwise reach the International Blues market.
The Atlanta Blues Society, as an affiliate member, is allowed to enter one CD into this competition. You must be a Musician member of the ABS to submit a CD. The CD must have been released between November 1, 2022, and October 31, 2023. We will need to get 4 un-opened CDs from you either by mail or hand delivered to a Board Member. The Board will review all CDs and determine which CD we will submit to the Blues Foundation. CDs submitted will be evaluated using Blues Foundation criteria. The Blues Foundation criteria considered are listed in order of importance:
1. Blues Content
2. Musical Performance
3. Audio Quality and Production Value
4. Professionalism and Visual Appearance of Cover Art and Design
5. Credits and Liner Notes
Entries must be received by us or postmarked by October 1, 2023. Please read the official rules posted on the Blues Foundation website at Official rules – especially the rules about previously nominated for Blues Music Award criteria.
