Our January Gathering & Jam was bright & crisp, just like the weather. Missy Flapjack & the Butterworth Blues Band gave us an energetic and fun set and everybody loved them. We filled up the room and used very seat in the place. We had a regular raffle which was supplemented by merch from our host band, Hooray!  Our jam was one of the best, and included some of our regular jammers and some fresh new faces, including Noah Teal, a 14 year old guitarist and singer who has clearly been studying the greats. Not to mention a rare sit-in by Bill Sheffield and an appearance by ABC winner Garrett Collins. The Gypsy Rose staff was excellent and made sure we were well served.

Missy and the band are now entering their 12th year as an ensemble, and have been rocking Atlanta audiences with a great mix of blues, rock, funk, and a whole lotta soul for the over a decade.  2020 is shaping up to be a banner year for the band and will be booming with shows, appearances, performances, new songs, and a debut album of original blues music. The Butterworth repertoire is a rocking mix of original blues, rock ‘n’ roll, and classic blues standards and features Dave Knaub on drums and percussion, Brian Rosen on electric guitar, Michael Thornton on bass, and singer songwriter Alexis M. La Salle as Missy Flapjack on vocals and keys. This group will have you grooving and smiling with blues you can use!

Although time and resources do not always permit, we were able to capture some video of the band, and you can watch a 5 minute collection of excerpts here…
