Shortly after Carlos Capote passed, your Board of Directors unanimously passed the recommendation that we should create a Music Scholarship In Carlos’ name.
Proudly, the Atlanta Blues Society has expanded its longstanding ‘Blues in the Schools’ youth education efforts with a new initiative that began in the Spring of 2022 entitled ‘The Carlos Capote Music Scholarship‘.
This scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to aspiring young Blues musicians whose limited financial resources might prohibit them from attending a Blues music learning opportunity.
This scholarship program is available for those qualified applicants under the age of twenty-one to study their instrument of choice at reputable blues camps, seminars, and workshop programs within the State of Georgia. The scholarship does not fund one-on-one lessons or tuition.
If you would like to donate to help, please send funds to our PayPal account (Click the DONATE Button below). Designate it ABS and specify “Carlos Capote Music Scholarship” in the comment section. No one knows the future, but we know that the young people we support and the music they create will help make it a brighter, better one.
