Happy Holidays! The annual Atlanta Blues Society Holiday Party is our way of saying “Thank You” for your support as a member or sponsor.
This year’s holiday party will be in Sandy Springs at the Dorothy C. Benson Multipurpose Complex, Building B, 6500 Vernon Woods Drive, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Non-smoking, kid friendly, plenty of parking, and lots of dancing room! Members and sponsors receive dinner on us and there’ll be door prizes. Santa will be dropping by for a special visit!!
Please bring at least one new, unwrapped toy for the Marines to take back to the Toys for Tots headquarters for distribution to kids in need. We will collect the toys at the entrance to the party. Last year, we sent the Marines on their way with a full vanload — let’s do it again!
Music is what your Atlanta Blues Society is all about, and we’ll have plenty for your listening and dancing pleasure. The winners from this year’s Atlanta Blues Challenge will play for us — our Solo/Duo Winner, Scott Low; and Band Winner, Blue Velvet Atlanta. Rumor has it that Santa George will contribute to the musical festivities, too!
We will be presenting the Solo/Duo and Band winners with their prize money and collecting tips to help offset costs for their trip. The ABS will match the tips collected for the acts going to Memphis, so please be generous.
If you are a member or a sponsor, there is no charge for admission or the meal. Non-members are welcome to attend. There will be a $15 charge per non-member to cover the cost of the meal. Non-members who join the Atlanta Blues Society at the party will enjoy the meal at no charge.
The party is also the annual kick-off for our Membership Renewal drive – it’s a great time to renew your membership or sponsorship. Beat the inevitable renewal rush that always occurs in January and February and renew at the party!
Please RSVP on the Facebook event so we can get a good count of how many people will be there. If you aren’t on Facebook, or plan on bringing guests with you, send us an email letting us know how many will be coming.
