Monday, September 7th
WRFG’s annual Labor Day Blues Barbecue returns on Monday, September 7th with a great lineup of some of the Southeast’s premier blues talent.
Two great blues bands will be coming from Nashville: International Blues Challenge and Blues Music Award winners, Piper and the Hard Times, and 23-year-old rising star, guitarist Yates McKendree. Also performing will be Macon, Georgia’s soul-stirring blues band, Cash’s Juke Joint, featuring Angel “Cash” Ocasio, Jr. And from right here in Atlanta, and being recognized as this year’s honoree, we’re pleased to present acclaimed singer/songwriter Diane Durrett, and her band, Soul Suga’.
This WRFG fundraiser will be held at The Park Tavern in Piedmont Park. The doors will open at noon and the music starts at 1:00 and goes on until 7:30 p.m. $30 advance tickets are now available at wrfg.org. They’ll be $40 the day of the show. Kids 12 and under are free.
WRFG wishes to thank our sponsors: the Park Tavern, the Atlanta Blues Society, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, and Fulton County Arts & Culture.
